Order issued to set up control room
The Power Division made a counter strategy on the protests against electricity bills. An order was issued to set up a control room.
Public protest over excessive electricity bills has started intensifying, the government has set up a control room to monitor the public response.
A central control room has been set up in the Power Division for integrated coordination with all electricity distribution companies across the country.
The officers posted in the control room will contact the IGs and Chief Secretary of the distribution companies and the concerned provinces in case of deterioration of the law and order situation.
The officers posted in the control room will also prepare a detailed report of the damage caused to the electricity offices as a result of the public reaction and submit it to the higher authorities.

The central control room established in the federal capital Islamabad has been established today from August 25 to August 31. In the central control room, a joint secretary, deputy secretary and section officers of the power division will work 24 hours a day in shifts. The division has issued an office order.
