The hearing on the application for suspension of sentence and release on bail was adjourned till August 24
Chairman PTI's attempt to suspend the sentence in the Tosha Khana case was not successful.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri heard the petition of Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf for suspension of sentence and release on bail in Islamabad High Court.
Lawyer Election Commission Amjad Pervaiz told the court that I should be given 2 weeks to prepare, Chief Justice Amir Farooq remarked that they give you some time but they cannot give 2 weeks. The Islamabad High Court gave two days time to the Election Commission's lawyer for preparation.
When the lawyers of Chairman PTI complained about not being allowed to meet the client, Chief Justice Amir Farooq remarked that an appropriate order will be issued after seeing the situation.
Sardar Latif Khosa said that I am against giving time to the lawyer of the Election Commission, it will be a complete abuse, the punishment of the client is only 3 years. My client's fundamental rights are being violated in prison.
Lawyer Shirafazl Marwat said that we are not being allowed to meet Chairman PTI, Chief Justice Amir Farooq said that I do not understand why you were prevented from meeting? I have given the order considering all the circumstances, I will pass the order in this regard. Later, the court adjourned further hearing of the case till August 24.
