افغانستان کو سپر فور مرحلے میں کوالیفائی کرنے کےلیے دی جانے والی کیلکولیشن پر جوناتھن ٹروٹ پھٹ پڑے۔
ہیڈ کوچ افغانستان کرکٹ ٹیم جوناتھن ٹروٹ نے قذافی اسٹیڈیم میں میچ کے بعد پریس کانفرنس کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ہمیں 37.1 اوورز کے علاوہ کوئی اور کیلکولیشن نہیں بتائی گئی تھی۔
انکا کہنا تھا کہ معلوم نہیں تھا کہ چھکا مار کر 38 اوور میں کھیل مکمل کرسکتے تھے۔
جوناتھن ٹروٹ نے کہا کہ ہم ٹورنامنٹ میں بہتر پرفارم کرسکتے تھے۔ ٹورنامنٹ سے باہر ہونے پر مایوسی ہوئی ہے۔
افغانستان کرکٹ ٹیم کے ہیڈ کوچ کا کہنا تھا کہ ہمیں اپنی غلطیوں پر قابو پانا ہوگا۔
واضح رہے کہ ایشیا کپ گروپ بی کے تیسرے اور پہلے مرحلے کے چھٹے میچ میں سری لنکا نے افغانستان کو سنسنی خیز مقابلے کے بعد 2 رنز سے شکست دے کر سپر فور مرحلے کےلیے کوالیفائی کرلیا۔
افغانستان کو اگلے راؤنڈ کےلیے کوالیفائی کرنے کےلیے سری لنکا کا 292 رنز کا ہدف 38ویں اوور کی پہلی گیند پر پورا کرنا تھا۔
جب 38ویں اوور کی پہلی گیند پر 3 رنز درکار تھے تو مجیب الرحمان اونچا شاٹ کھیلنے کی کوشش میں کیچ آؤٹ ہوگئے۔
یہی نہیں بلکہ افغانستان کے پاس سپر فور میں کوالیفائی کرنے کا ایک اور موقع تھا جب اسے 37.4 اوورز تک چھکا یا پھر اسکور برابر کرنے کے بعد چوکا لگانے کی کوشش کرنی تھی تو اس وقت سری لنکن بولر دھننجیا ڈی سلوا نے اپنے تجربے کا استعمال کرتے ہوئے آخری افغانی بیٹر فضل الحق فاروقی کو آؤٹ کردیا۔
