اسلام آباد کے ایک سینئر صحافی نے دعویٰ کیا ہے کہ صدر عارف علوی جمعہ کو انتخابات کیلئے نومبر کی تاریخ کا اعلان کرنے والے تھے لیکن پھر دو اہم شخصیات نےایوان صدر جاکر ان سے 2 گھنٹے طویل ملاقات کی۔
کامران یوسف نے یہ دعویٰ شاہ زیب خانزادہ کے پروگرام میں گفتگو اور سوشل میڈیا پر ایک ویڈیومیں کیا جس کی آزادانہ طور پر تصدیق نہیں ہوسکی۔
صحافی کامران یوسف کے مطابق صدر مملکت ایوان صدر کے چوتھے فلور پر بیٹھتے ہیں اور اس اہم ملاقات کے دوران وہاں سے عملے کو ہٹا دیا گیا تھا۔
انہوں نے کہاکہ صدرعارف علوی کو ایک ریٹائرڈ جج قانونی مشاورت کرتے ہیں جن کی رائے ہے کہ الیکشن ایکٹ میں ترمیم کے باوجود آئین کے تحت صدر کو انتخابات کی تاریخ دینے کا حق حاصل ہے۔ جبکہ سپریم کورٹ بھی اس معاملے کو اٹھانے والی ہے۔
یاد رہے کہ الیکشن کمیشن نے حال ہی میں صدر کو لکھے گئے ایک خط میں واضح کیا تھا کہ چونکہ قومی اسمبلی آئین کے آرٹیکل 58 ٹو بی کے بجائے 58 ون کے تحت تحلیل کی گئی ہے لہذا الیکشن کی تاریخ دینے کا اختیار صدر کا نہیں بلکہ الیکشن کمیشن کا ہے۔
کامران یوسف کے بقول الیکشن کمیشن کی جانب سے جمعہ کو ہنگامی اجلاس بلانے کا تناظر بھی یہی تھا اور حکام سپریم کورٹ میں الیکشن کے حوالے سے سماعت سے پہلے کوئی قدم اٹھانا چاہتے ہیں۔
جمعہ کو ہنگامی اجلاس کے بعد الیکشن کمیشن نے اعلان کیا کہ حلقہ بندیاں 30 ںومبر تک مکمل کر لی جائیں گی جب کہ الیکشن کی تاریخ کا اعلان جلد سے جلد کیا جائے گا

A senior journalist from Islamabad has claimed that President Arif Alvi was going to announce the November date for the elections on Friday, but then two important figures went to the President's House and met him for 2 hours.
Kamran Yusuf made this claim in a talk on Shahzeb Khanzada program and in a video on social media, which could not be independently verified.
According to journalist Kamran Yusuf, the President sits on the fourth floor of the President's House and the staff was removed from there during this important meeting.
He said that President Arif Alvi is given legal advice by a retired judge who is of the opinion that despite the amendment of the Election Act, the President has the right to give the date of the elections under the Constitution. While the Supreme Court is also going to take up this matter.
It should be remembered that the Election Commission recently clarified in a letter to the President that since the National Assembly has been dissolved under Article 58-1 instead of Article 58-2B of the Constitution, the authority to set the date of the election is not the President's but It belongs to the Election Commission.
According to Kamran Yusuf, this was also the context of calling an emergency meeting by the Election Commission on Friday and the authorities want to take some steps before the hearing regarding the election in the Supreme Court.
After an emergency meeting on Friday, the Election Commission announced that the delimitation of constituencies will be completed by November 30, while the election date will be announced as soon as possible.
